Furukawa. Modern Slavery in Ecuador Part I

Workers of the company Furukawa Plantaciones, C.A. Ecuador, denounced labor abuse and exploitation. Founded in 1963, its main activity is the cultivation of abaca and other textile fiber plants and one of its mottos is "Seek the development of the company together with the well-being of its employees", however this premise does not seem to be fulfilled, since according to a report of the Ombudsman's Office, argued with inspections of the plantations and with testimonies of their workers, they live in a situation of modern slavery. For 56 years, Furukawa has violated the Human Rights of its workers, most of them of Afro-descendant origin.
